On the occasion of the forthcoming 20th anniversary of the holding of the first Congress of FIDE (International Federation of European Law – Fédération Internationale de Droit Européen) in Cyprus in 2006, the Cyprus Association for European Law (Cyprus branch of FIDE or FIDE Cyprus) in cooperation with the Centre of Excellence for the Rule of Law and European Values CRoLEV at the University of Central Lancashire in Cyprus (UCLan Cyprus) as well as the Procedural Law Unit at the University of Nicosia, cordially invite you to a ceremony to be held on 27th November 2025 at 18:00 at the Stelios Foundation Cyprus Headquarters in Nicosia. The ceremony will be held in the honour of Mr. Xenios L Xenopoulos, former President of FIDE Cyprus and of FIDE, marking our deepest appreciation for services rendered all these years.

Guests of honour and orators at the ceremony will include long-time supporters of FIDE Cyprus and of European law in Cyprus: former judge at the Court of Justice of the European Union and FIDE Cyprus member, the Honourable Judge George Arestis (Ret’d); European Prosecutor from Cyprus, Ms. Anne Pantazi Lamprou (FIDE Cyprus honorary member); FIDE Cyprus President, Prof. Stéphanie Laulhé Shaelou; and FIDE Cyprus member Ms. Antigoni Fakonti. The ceremony will include an allocution by Mr. Xenios L. Xenopoulos (former President of FIDE Cyprus and FIDE) and will be followed by a reception with musical interlude.

This event is open to FIDE Cyprus members and non-members. Any legal professional or otherwise supporting European law and values in Cyprus is welcome join us at the ceremony and learn more about FIDE.
