The Rule of Law and European Values in the modern ages: Human Rights in the Digital Age (2nd edition)
The School of Law of UCLan Cyprus is pleased to announce the online intensive course on rights and values related to technological development in the CRoLEV Intensive Course Series entitled “Human Rights in the Digital Age”.
This 10-hour course looks at rights and values related to technologies development, deployment and use with special focus on artificial intelligence. In order to achieve this aim, it seeks to familiarise students with key concepts, practices and regulative frameworks. In the final part of the course, an informal assessment exercise will take place where students can show their learning. The course aims to inform students of values and rights that must be considered when developing, deploying and using new technologies, especially artificial intelligence ones, as well as of the threats and opportunities that arise for human rights in the digital era.
The course will cover the following themes:
- Societal values and technological development
- Human rights concept and protection in the digital era
- AI impact on human rights
